Mod of the Month - April 2011

There's so much going on in our project log forums these days that it's hard to keep track of all the amazing eye candy on show. There are scores of fantastic projects nearing completion, and even more have been started in the last month, while hundreds of updates have been added to in-progress mods and scratchbuilds.

If you're new to bit-tech and modding, or haven't ventured into our forums yet, make sure you check out our Modding and Project Logs forums, as well as our Modding section. Here you'll find guides and articles written by the makers of some of the best projects we've seen, as well as plenty of eye candy from other projects.

Prize 1 - 'Mod of the Month' Copper Edition PC Mod Ruler by Mnpctech.

This ruler is CNC-machined from 1/8in pure copper, and weighs one pound. You can see a fantastic video showing how the ruler is made here.

Prize 2 - 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber Film

This looks and feels like real carbon fiber, and adheres to both flat and curved surfaces. You can apply this to power supplies, cases, monitors, keyboards, mice, drive faces, headphones, bezels, fan controllers, toggle switches and so on.

Prize 3 - Pair of Mnpctech Billet Case Handles

These are CNC-machined from 0.75in-thick aluminium, and include four fasteners and nuts. The handles have dimensions of 0.75 x 6.25in (width x length), and feature 0.25in mounting holes.











Thanks to Mnpctech for stumping up such fantastic prizes again this month. Last month, over 100 of you voted in our Mod of the Month poll, in which six unique projects went head to head. It was a familiar face that won, though - boddaker claimed first place with his Cooler Master modding competition entry, TRON Lightcycle. In second was Positronic Brain by awadon and just making it onto the podium was Commodore P.E.T. 2011 by TheGreatSatan.
