Aquatuning Warehouse and Modding Facility Tour
If you could stand in a warehouse full of awesome gear, what gear would it be? Well hopefully as you're reading this on
bit-tech, your choice might have something to do with computers like ours would. As it happens we did just this recently when we visited
Aquatuning's vast warehouse near Hanover in Germany.
We knew it would be interesting inside - after all, Aquatuning has pretty much the largest choice of water cooling related hardware in Europe - over 5,000 individual product lines and over a million items in stock stored on 649 pallets at any one time. However the real surprise comes when you realise that in every one of the thousands of little boxes is filled with barbs of one specific size or colour, or thermal paste, or pumps or tubing.
More than one or two FuZion V2 water blocks, and yes that's a whole tub of Arctic Silver 5 tubes
We decided to make a video of the warehouse while we were there. One modded trolley later...

Aquatuning apparently found its success in having everything in stock - that might sound strange but with a niche segment such as water cooling, it's relatively rare and it can be risky forking out for obscure cooling blocks for graphics cards when those graphics cards might not sell well. However as with most enthusiasts, people who buy the stuff clearly want it yesterday and this, Aquatuning claims, they relied upon in their business model.

Entire isles are devoted to specific things and each is laid out so orders can be picked from start to finish without having to go backwards and forwards. This is how most similar businesses operate, however it's amazing that the entire operation is devoted to water cooling hardware. Though, from the looks of things, it's just as well that Pascal, the UK sales manager for Aquatuning isn't involved in the packing process as he looks as pre-occupied as we were - nice fort Pascal.
The warehouse doesn't just house the small items such as barbs and tubing. As we arrived, several huge
Hailea water chillers sat on their own, waiting to be shipped.
