ASUS Technology Leadership Benefits Users Worldwide
Continued innovation and adaptability in motherboard technology exemplified by new B3 revision Intel® P67 chipset-based products
Hannover, Germany (March 1, 2011) — Thanks to the addition of a number of exclusive technologies, ASUS motherboards with the new B3 revision Intel® P67 chipset offer customers the kind of benefits that can only come from many years of award-winning design experience.
Moving forward with new technology
ASUS leads the market in developing products based on new Intel® motherboard technology, and the recently launched P67 chipset family for second generation Core™ processors is a prime example. The exciting user-centric features ASUS has incorporated into its P67-based motherboards have garnered considerable media attention around the world and resulted in numerous awards, both for performance and superior design. Examples include the P8P67 PRO garnering Tech Report’s Editor’s Choice Award and Bit-Tech’s Excellence Award for the P8P67, both in January 2011*. ASUS currently only ships B3 revision P67-based motherboards, incorporating the latest updates from Intel®.
Setting a new standard of digital power design
As with all ASUS motherboards, new models based on the Intel® P67 chipset serve as a platform for a host of innovative and exclusive technologies. Chief among these is DIGI+ VRM, which incorporates digital voltage regulation to eliminate the latency usually associated with analog-to-digital power conversion. DIGI+ VRM improves overall power efficiency, helping improve PC performance, enhance the lifespan of motherboard components and ensure greater system stability.
This technology works in conjunction with another ASUS motherboard innovation, the Energy Processing Unit (EPU). This dedicated microprocessor monitors and manages power consumption to improve efficiency, ensuring that ASUS P67 motherboards maintain a streamlined energy footprint.
Exclusive BIOS innovation
ASUS’ EFI BIOS provides users with the world’s first intuitive graphical interface for control over both basic and advanced BIOS settings with mouse input. Fine-tuning core system settings becomes more accessible and much easier than with traditional text-based BIOS versions.
ASUS also continues its tradition of adding features that enhance motherboard reference specifications. All ASUS P67 motherboards ship with USB 3.0, SATA 6Gb/s and Intel® hardware-accelerated Gigabit Ethernet as standard**, offering users the fastest data transmission speeds currently available.
Guaranteed quality
On 31 January 2011, Intel® announced that it had detected a design error in its new P67 chipset as part of routine quality assurance. In accordance with its own strict quality assurance procedures and deep commitment to customer satisfaction, ASUS immediately suspended the shipment of all affected products across its distribution and retail channels. The company began shipping updated new B3 revision Intel® 6 series-based motherboards in late February. ASUS also announced a comprehensive refund or replacement program for all affected products. As Intel® indicated the design error only occurs with certain SATA 3Gb/s ports, ASUS also created an online tutorial to help customers clearly identify all unaffected SATA 6Gb/s ports for each relevant product. This information can be found at

Updated versions retain all product specifications, performance and exclusive features. Users are assured complete compatibility across all versions.
