Don’t forget your P’s and T’s… Novatech first to offer Centrino 2 stock at launch
July 15, 2008: Portsmouth, UK: Novatech Ltd announced today their new x50mv 15.4” performance laptop based on Intel’s latest Centrino 2 mobile platform. The x50mv promises more CPU and GPU grunt packed into a 15” platform than ever seen before. “The x50mv is nothing less than set to impress” exclaimed Kriss Pomroy, Commercial Director, Novatech.
Beneath the x50mv’s sleek and lustrous design, houses the new Intel PM45 Express chipset tuned to an expeditious 1066MHz front-side-bus supporting Intel’s latest 45nm range of P and T model processors. The P class runs at a more power efficient 25 Watts whereas the T class runs at an avaricious 35 Watts, both ranging from 2.2GHz to 2.8GHz. There is also a 44W QX9100 3.06GHz quad core processor on the horizon.
The addition of Intel’s WiFi Link 5300 completes the Centrino 2 spec, which introduces new heights in data transfer over 802.11a, b, g and n wireless networks including streaming Hi-Def video and an improved online gaming experience. For the more ‘ping conscious’, the x50mv also provides an ultra-fast Intel gigabit connection and a 56k modem for times of desperation
If that wasn’t enough, the x50mv also features the very latest in mobile graphics. “We were very excited to launch NVIDIA 9 series mobile graphics in early June” remarked Pomroy, “But combining a 9600M GT with Intel’s latest line of mobile chipsets and processors is truly awe-inspiring”. Based on 512MB of super-fast GDDR3 memory, the x50mv can be expected to hit over 5,100 points in 3DMark 06.
The x50mv’s beautifully finished metallic gloss lid houses a Windows Sideshow device; a handy gadget that lets you check email, play games, browse music, photos and videos and lots more without even opening the notebook. On the flip side is a gorgeous high-res WSXGA+ X-Brite 1680x1050 TFT Screen with a 1.3MP webcam.
The x50mv features no less than 7200rpm rapid hard drives and DDR2 memory. Bluetooth and HDMI connections come as standard including an Express card expansion slot and 6 cell Lithium-Ion battery. The x50mv is available in stock today starting from a modest £699 ex VAT featuring an Intel P8400 Core 2 Duo Mobile 3MB Cache 2.26GHz Dual Core Processor and the x50mv Pro at £829 ex VAT featuring an Intel P9500 Core 2 Duo Mobile 6MB Cache 2.53GHz Dual Core Processor.
