After our recent
BFGTech and XFX GeForce 7800 GT head to head, it seems that XFX have taken some of our criticisms on board and introduced an all-new warranty scheme designed to compete with the likes of
BFGTech, who offer a true lifetime warranty for all of their video cards.
BFGTech's lifetime warranty protects the owner of the card and will mean that you receive a free upgrade should your card be damaged beyond repair. We've championed BFGTech's support in the past, after experiencing it first hand - it's definitely recommended.
XFX have taken this a step further in North America, where they're offering a lifetime warranty that protects your video card, and its next owner provided that you register the video card on
XFX's website.
The warranty only includes GeForce 6 and GeForce 7-series video cards purchased in the United States, and the full warranty will be passed on to the second owner providing they also register the card online. At present, we don't have any indication as to when this warranty will be rolled out across Europe, but we hope that it'll be in good time.
You can read more about the terms on
XFX's support page.
Is this a good move, or should the new warranty have been rolled out across all of the regions where XFX sell video cards? Let us know in
the forums.
