Quad SLI is released to the masses

NVIDIA has released a beta driver enabling Quad SLI with a pair of the recently-released GeForce 7950 GX2's.
The first implementation of NVIDIA's Quad SLI was promising, but buggy. There was a lot of work to be done on drivers, and the hardware implementation was such that you required a huge case to house the 312mm long video cards. This - and the fact that the drivers were still in development - meant that Quad SLI was limited to system builders only.
Two and a half months after we had the chance to look at the first implementation, NVIDIA has released Forceware 91.37 on SLI Zone, bringing Quad SLI support to the GeForce 7950 GX2.
Before you rush out and buy a pair of GeForce 7950 GX2's, there are a number of things that you need to check. NVIDIA recommends users to double check motherboard and power supply compatibility before purchasing a pair of GeForce 7950 GX2's.
HardOCP had the chance to ask Chris Daniel - NVIDIA's SLI Product Manager - some questions about Quad SLI. There are lots of interesting answers, including some discussion on where Quad SLI will provide gameplay benefits to end users. It's definitely worth a read if you're considering Quad SLI.
