Corsair Gaming has announced the launch of its Sabre RGB mice, ultra-light models featuring a choice of LED or laser-lit optical sensors in a sub-100g body.
Designed by Jason Christian, competitive Counter-Strike Go player and product manager for Corsair's gaming peripherals division, the Sabre RGB family boasts a sub-100g weight and user-customisable four-zone RGB lighting with a choice of 16.8 million colour blends. Customisation is carried out through Corsair's CUE software, which also allows for the eight buttons of each mouse to be configured and customised to the user's individual requirements.
While most features - including a 1.8 metre braided easy-flex cable, switches rated to 20 million clicks and the overall shape of the casing - are common to both models in the range, buyers are being given a choice of engine. The cheaper Sabre RGB Optical Mouse uses LED illumination and offers a tracking resolution of 6,400 dots per inch (DPI); the more expensive Sabre RGB Laser Mouse boosts the resolution to 8,200 DPI for those who need it.
'
As a competitive Counter-Strike Go player, I need an agile and accurate mouse to allow me to get consistent head shots with minimal effort and maximum efficiency,' claimed Christian at the US unveiling. '
To this end, I designed the Sabre RGB mice from the ground up to be lean and ultralight with the same level of precision of our M65 and M45 mice.'
UK pricing and availability for the mice has yet to be confirmed, with Corsair Gaming detailing a $59.99 US recommended retail price for the optical and $69.99 for the laser models (around £38 and £44 respectively, excluding taxes.) More details are available on the
official product page.
