COMPUTEX 2009: To further widen its Storm of gaming hardware, Cooler Master will launch the Sentinel gaming mouse and accompanying mouse mats for the gamer who wants to co-ordinate.
The Sentinel isn't just a rebrand, it's a custom design by Cooler Master that features dual IR lasers, custom weights in the back under a cover and up to 5,000dpi in separate X and Y axis, which can be checked on the OLED screen in the top.
This setting can be assigned to profiles and selected at the touch of a button. The right handed mouse is designed for palm resters rather than finger twitchers, and each setting has its own colour scheme which Cooler Master claims adds to ease of profile identification at the flick of an eye.
Likewise the mouse scroll wheel is especially clicky to know exactly how far it is pushed for weapon selection for example.
Finally, for the ultimate personalisation, the Storm logo on the OLED screen can be customised to suit the tag/logo of the person or clan.
As for mice mats - one will likely come bundled with the mouse, along with an anti-theft PCI bracket as well! The rest of the mice mats vary in size, shape and material - some hard plastic, some softer cloth: Cooler Master is planning a variety of "gamey" bits on, as well as Storm logos, etc.
Gimmicky or pretty cool niche features? Enough to take on the might of Razor? Let us know your thoughts in the forums.
