Details of a new flagship phone called the Sony i1 have leaked, and they suggest it will feature a whopping 20-megapixel camera.
Rumoured to be arriving in August, the upcoming phone is also reported to have both an LED lamp and a more powerful Xenon flash, as well as be among the first models to feature the new Qualcomm 800 + Adreno 330 series processor.
If true these specs would put this new Sony phone comfortably ahead of the current flagship phones of other companies, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and HTC One.
Rumours of the device first appeared in
late April but have now been backed up by
more recent leaks. It is expected to be part of a new lineup of One branded phones from the Japanese company.
Sony i1 specs
As well as impressive camera and processor specs the Sony i1 (also codenamed Honami) is also expected to feature a best-in-class 3,000mAH battery, a 1080p 5in X-Reality LCD display and a microSD slot.
The chassis, meanwhile, is of glass and carbon-fibre and it is also reported to have a powerful Liquid Magnetic speaker for improved audio.
Unfortunately for many of our readers, the talk is currently of the i1 going to the USA only. What with the recently announced Nokia 928 being US only too, it's not been the best 24 hours for the rest of us. Still, there's the Samsung Galaxy Zoom to look forward to we suppose.
