On a recent visit to memory firm G.Skill here in Taiwan, we were introduced to its latest, ultra high frequency DDR3 modules, running at 2,500MHz. G.Skill can currently claim the fastest retail memory available on the planet then, however at timings of 9-11-9 (although 9-11-11 in the images below) we think they are a little lax in terms of timing compared to the 9-9-9 that would be more in-line with most consumer parts.
The memory features XMP technology so you can just enable a one click overclock, however because you'll need a Core-i7 860/870 CPU capable of a 210MHz baseclock and the memory has currently only been vetted for either the Asus P7P55D-E Deluxe or EVO motherboards specifically.
They are currently available in limited quantities, but, they are certainly available (we've seen the stock) so if you are an extreme overclocker looking for some new 'Trident' kit, then start emailing your local retailer.
Do you want some super high speed DDR3? 2,400MHz just not cutting it for you? Or are 1,600MHz modules just fine? Let us know your thoughts
