Nvidia has officially opened the doors to its next-generation Pascal graphics architecture, sending sales pages for boards made by itself and its partners live... right about now.
While Nvidia had originally indicated it would be releasing the GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition boards, its first-party implementation of the first consumer-centric Pascal GPU, up to a month before its hardware partners could get a look-in with third-party implementations, it has changed its mind: sales are now open for both the Founders Edition and third-party partner boards, with prices starting at £529.
The Founders Edition, naturally, still fetches a premium: Nvidia is sticking with a £619 price point for the board, which is a reference design with stock blower-style cooler. The company has also confirmed that the GeForce GTX 1070, a lower-performance Pascal board for buyers on a tighter budget, will launch on the 10th of June with a Founders Edition priced at £399 and partner pricing yet to be confirmed.
The GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition is available direct from Nvidia, while the partner boards can be found at your favourite etailers and retailers now.
