Gigabyte has formally unveiled a mini-ITX entry in its GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card range, designed for more compact gaming systems: the GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC.
Based on the same Nvidia Pascal GPU as its larger counterparts, Gigabyte's new GeForce GTX 1070 Mini ITX OC includes 1,920 CUDA cores running at a default ('Gaming Mode') speed of 1,531MHz base and 1,721MHz boost; these figures can be increased to 1,556MHz base and 1,746MHz boost by switching to the preconfigured 'OC Mode.' In both modes, the memory clock runs at an effective 8,008MHz connecting the GPU to 8GB of GDDR5 on a 256-bit bus.
The compact card - measuring 169mm in length, 131mm in height, and 37mm in depth - includes two dual-link DVI-D ports, an HDMI 2.0b port with a maximum output resolution of 4,096 x 2,160 at a 60Hz refresh rate, and a DisplayPort 1.4 port. All four outputs can be used simultaneously, supporting a maximum overall resolution of 7,680 x 4,320, while the card itself includes an eight-pin power connector with the recommendation that a 500W minimum power supply is used.
As befits its diminutive stature, the card is cooled by a single 90mm fan which blows air through an aluminium heatsink featuring three direct-contact composite-design heat pipes. At low load, the fan remains off; only when the temperature rises will it kick in.
UK pricing and availability for the card has yet to be confirmed, with more detail available from the
official product page.
