EVGA has announced a new family of SLI bridges for Nvidia's latest GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards: the EVGA Pro SLI Bridge HB.
Designed to fully support the high bandwidth available on the SLI ports of Nvidia's latest GeForce GTX10x0 series of graphics cards, EVGA's new Pro SLI Bridge HB - the latter suffix denoting its high bandwidth compatibility, naturally - is to launch in four flavours: an ultra-compact 0-slot spacing model designed for liquid-cooled cards that do not need to be spaced apart for airflow purposes, plus one-, two-, and four-slot variants. Following Nvidia's recommendations, they will be available in two-way SLI configuration only - Nvidia having opted to demote three- and higher-way SLI setups to unsupported 'enthusiast-only' status.
As well as the high-bandwidth support and various size options, there's another trick up the Pro SLI Bridge HB's sleeve EVGA hopes will encourage people to upgrade rather than simply using an existing bridge: an illuminated EVGA logo on the top side, which can be toggled between red, green, blue, and white to match with a case's existing colour scheme.
Pricing and official availability for the new bridges are not yet available, with more information to be found on EVGA's
official website.
