EVGA has announced a treat for owners of its liquid-cooled GeForce Titan X, GTX 980 Ti and GTX 980 Hybrid graphics caards: a shiny new fan shroud.
Featuring both air and liquid cooling, thanks to an all-in-one sealed-loop 120mm radiator, pump, and fan, EVGA's Hybrid family is designed for those who fancy the idea of cooler-running and - in theory, at least - more overclockable graphics but who don't fancy taking their several-hundred-pound purchase apart to fit something themselves. The cards now enjoy a new look, thanks to a revised, sleeker top shroud - and existing customers can upgrade for very-nearly-free.
The new shroud does away with the X-shape decal of the original designs in favour of a two-tone finish highlighting the radial fan intake. The top also features a raised EVGA Hybrid logo, which lights up white when power is applied. The company hasn't indicated that the new shroud offers anything other than a cosmetic improvement, with no word of quieter running or improved cooling, but it is allowing owners to try it out for themselves.
Anyone who has purchased an EVGA GeForce Titan X Hybrid, GeForce GTX 980 Ti Hybrid, or GeForce GTX 980 Hybrid from an official EVGA reseller can apply to be sent out a free shroud - or as many as they purchased graphics cards - from the company's
official website. There is, of course, one slight catch: while the shroud is free, the company is charging shipping and handling to get it to your door - and, naturally, you'll have to fit it yourself.
