Sunday evenings are always insanely boring, so why not amuse yourself with some of the top stuff from the
bit-tech forums, plucked by hand for your viewing please?
All links open in a new window for your viewing convenience.
Let's start with the mods. It's been a while since we've seen a woody, but
this one looks like it could turn into something good. There's an awful lot of watercooling kit going into it, and a pretty nice paint job too.
However, if you're looking for what NOT to do... here's
how not to cut a 80mm blowhole. Get polishing...
This project is fairly simplistic, but has a pretty good use of RCA jacks, which we certainly don't see used often enough, despite their ubiquity in the A/V world.
Fans on RCA are a good thing!
Moving on to games. F.E.A.R. has been out for over a week now, so most of you will already have gotten to grips with it. There's some heated discussion going on about the best bits of the game, with some people not even liking it that much. Did you find the plot too convoluted, or were you to bowled over by the AI to care? Drop by the
F.E.A.R. thoughts thread and impart your opinion.
Likewise, by now, many of you will have played through Lost Coast.
Let us know what you thought of it.
Objects of miscellany: Everyone needs a laptop bag. Well, at least, everyone that has a laptop. A couple of forumers are putting together a thread of everyone's laptop bags, so that anyone looking to buy one can have an idea of which ones are good and which ones are bad. Why not contribute your own laptop case to the
pictures thread?
If you're bamboozled by buffering and peeved at progressive, you might need this handy guide to
High Definition terminology.
And finally... Where are you in the world? Join the Flickr / Google Maps mashup by adding your location to the
map of bit-tech forum members. And, if you've been at a loose end this weekend and happened to catch Serenity, there's a
discussion thread for that fine Joss Wedon film.
Don't work too hard people...
