Corsair has announced that they will continue to have widespread availability of the XMS3500LL Pro 2GB modules, thanks to striking a deal with DRAM giant Infineon.
The XMS3500LL Pro modules were the industry's first memory modules to successfully complete NVIDIA's SLI certification program, and were recommended for use in the
ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard, running at tight timings of 2.0-3-2-6 1T.
As a result of the allocation from Infineon, the modules will now be manufactured with the Infineon Rev. C DRAM chips. It will also mean that Corsair is able to expand its production of 1GB XMS3500LL Pro modules.
A couple of weeks back, we showed that
there were certainly some benefits from having 2GB of memory installed in your system, but there wasn't any huge benefits from having super-tight timings. We feel that these modules will be targetted towards high-end enthusiasts who're looking for some of the fastest 1GB DDR memory modules available.
How much memory have you got in your system? Are you thinking about upgrading to 2GB soon if you haven't already? Let us know your thoughts
