Case-maker Lian Li has announced its latest flagship design, and it's another PC-as-furniture creation - but one which turns your rig in to a motorised standing desk.
Building a PC into a desk isn't a new concept - the minicomputer boom saw plenty of wood-grained systems installed in offices throughout the world - but Lian Li reckons it's on to a winner by combining the oversized chassis with the current fad for standing desks. The Lian Li DK-04, then, is a desk you can build a PC into and then adjust from 780mm high - too tall to sit at, sadly - through to 1170mm using a built-in control panel and motor setup.
Internally, the DK-04 has enough room for up to ten hard drives, support for 480mm or smaller radiators, four front-mounted 120mm and four rear-mounted 120mm fans, and can fit an ATX or micro-ATX motherboard with up to 320mm graphics card, 140mm CPU cooler, and a power supply up to 220mm in length. AS well as controling the motorised height adjustment functionality, a front panel provides analogue audio, USB 3.0 support, power and reset switches, and a three-channel RGB LED dimmer.
The glass-topped DK-04 is set to launch in May in the US priced at a whopping $1,500 (around £1,040 excluding taxes), with UK pricing and availability yet to be confirmed. More information is available on the official website.
