Sandisk is now offering its popular Sansa MP3 player with an FM tuner, for when you want something a little bit more 'live' than MP3s.
We previously looked at the Sansa e200 here, and came to the conclusion that it is a great little MP3 player if you're looking to buy something that isn't an Apple iPod. In fact, we'd go so far as to say that if you want a non-Apple MP3 player, this is the one to get.
Apple offers an FM tuner as a plug-in to the iPod, but the new Sansas will offer it as a built in option for a premium of about £7, which is pretty paltry in the scheme of things. The 4GB Sansa e260 costs about £95 and with the FM tuner will cost just over £100. That compares pretty favourably to the new iPod Nano, which costs just over £100 for the 2GB version.
The Sansa e-series also offers (admittedly miniscule) video and photo playback, and you can get it in 2, 4, 6 and 8 GB capacities.
We've heard from a lot of people that like the Sansa because it offers a drag-and-drop / file directory structure interface, which many people prefer to the iTunes / Tagging system. A quick straw poll of the office reveals four Sansa users and three iPod users (including your writer, a rabid Apple fanboy), so draw your own conclusions.
