The United States House of Representatives, the house which holds representatives from each state of the USA has approved a new bill which will imprison webmasters who lure youngsters to sexual websites by using words commonly used by children.
Misleading words such as "Barbie" on a website which leads children to it could land the webmaster up to 20 years in jail as well as a fine. The bill is part of the 163 page Child Protection and Safety Act, which will be signed into law by the President on Thursday.
Every sane person is up for this law to protect children, but how exactly will this be enforced? It may not always be the webmaster who is in control of the offending page, likewise this law will only be in effect in sites based in the United States.
There is no such law in the United Kingdom as of yet, but more and more people are becoming aware of such problems and it will not be surprising if a similar act is passed through parliament.
