In Win has announced the 'Mod in Taiwan' event, a live case modding competition to take place just before Computex 2016.
The event forms part of the company's 30th anniversary celebrations, which have already seen a number of limited edition chassis be revealed at CES. This event, however, is all about seeing what modders can come up with. Eight international teams will be pitted against each other, competing for a combination of cash and product prizes that will be awarded to those coming first, second and third. The teams are formed of modders from Australia, UK, Germany, France, Sweden, China and USA, which has two teams entered.
'Mod in Taiwan' will take place between 27-29 May 2016. Each team will have 8 hours per day, or 24 hours of modding time in total, to design, cut and build their creations before the judging process. Naturally, the teams will have equal access to the same materials and hardware, and they can pick between one of three themes for their mods: Military, Medieval or Spaceship. Given that the event is taking place in In Win's own factory complex in Taoyuan, Taiwan, and has partners including ASUS ROG, HyperX, Intel, Nvidia, EKWB and Bitspower, there should be plenty of awesome hardware on offer.
With the modding over, it's onto the judging process. The winners will be selected via a weighted, mixed combination of online voting (30 percent of total), professional judges (40 percent), In Win partners and media (20 percent) and on-site voting by Computex attendees (10 percent). This latter element is made possible as In Win will have all eight mods on display at its booth in the Nangang Exhibition Hall during Computex 2016 from 31 May to 4 June.
