Earlier this year, Nintendo announced plans to move its sales and marketing staff from its Redmond, WA offices to new offices in San Francisco and New York City. 60 percent of the staff elected to leave the company instead of making the move and one of the casualties just happens to be George Harrison, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communication of NOA.
Harrison (not to be confused the Beatle) has been synonymous with NOA for many years. Long before Reggie Fils-Aime became popular among the Nintendo crowd, Harrison was the man who pimped out games such as Goldeneye 007 and the GameCube console.
In a telephone call with Reuters, Harrison said, "I have confirmed to all employees that I will be leaving at the end of December and not making the move to California."
He has yet to announce where he plans to go after leaving Nintendo, but one thing's for sure - whoever takes his spot has some big shoes to fill.
