Ubisoft has, at the very last minute, announced delays for three of the biggest games it had planned for this year -
Splinter Cell: Conviction,
RUSE and
I Am Alive.
I Am Alive hadn't had a firm release date attached to it and is likely delayed thanks to a switch in developer, with Ubisoft moving the project from the external Darkworks to the new Ubisoft Shanghai studio, but was rumoured to be set for a 2010 release.
Splinter Cell: Conviction and
RUSE were both close to the finish line though and were set for a Q1 2010 release.
Ubisoft has given no reason for the delay and has merely re-shuffled the calendar to put all three games in the Fiscal 2010 release window - which means the games could be released anywhere between April 2010 and March 2011.
It's not
the first time that Splinter Cell: Conviction has been delayed either. The game was first announced back in 2007 and sported mechanics similar to
Assassin's Creed, but the project was quickly taken back to the drawing board and re-imagined as a more conventional
Splinter Cell title.
RUSE meanwhile was Ubisoft's big new IP for 2010 and was announced only last year.

RUSE for more information on either game.
