Talking about his recent promotion to Microsoft Game Studios' Creative Director for Europe, Peter Molynuex has said that one of his first aims is to help Rare Studios establish a new identity and to become a more vocal part of the games industry.

Speaking to GI.biz, Molyneux said that he wants the key developers as Rare to be seen a lot more within the industry in an effort to shed the secretive image around the studio.

"I was totally blown away from the amount of talent that there is at Rare, but it's just that they come from a background where Nintendo required them to be this very, very secretive company," Molyneux said.

"One of the things I really want to do is help Rare have more of an identity...I just want to give them the confidence to tell the world what they're doing. I hope you're going to see more from Rare and I want to help them get well known."

Molyneux was adamant that he wouldn't be interfering with Rare's creative process though and that he wouldn't even attempt to meddle with the studio's distinctive and colourful style - so Rare fans don't need to worry overly by the sound of it.

Would you like to see and hear more from Rare, or would you rather that Molyneux just went back to work on Project Natal? Let us know your thoughts in the forums.
