THQ Nordic, the company formerly known as Nordic Games, has announced the acquisition of all game-related IP from Novalogic, including the rights to the Delta Force games.
Nordic Games rescued the THQ brand from the scrap heap earlier this year when it
announced it would change its name to THQ Nordic and would look to continued development of classic THQ franchises including Darksiders, Destroy All Humans!, Frontlines: Fuel of War, Titan Quest, and Red Faction, all of which it acquired from THQ during the company's bankruptcy. Now, THQ Nordic has confirmed that it's resurrecting another company's classic games with the acquisition of game-related intellectual property from Novalogic.
'
After 30 years of creating ground breaking computer and video games we are proud to pass the baton to THQ Nordic,' claimed Novalogic founder and chief executive John Garcia of the deal which effectively marks his company's exit from the gaming market. '
As individuals, they are enthusiastic gamers and as a company have shown the agility and acumen needed to propel our industry towards a much-needed reset. We are happy to see the franchises we created in such capable hands.'
'
NovaLogic pioneered military simulations and military-themed multiplayer shooters with vehicular combat and also clearly targeted at an adult audience,' claimed THQ Nordic's Reinhard Pollice. '
We are extremely satisfied with the new additions to our portfolio, and also very thrilled about how to continue some of said franchises, we are open for talks in this regard if any developer approaches us with a concept for a potential sequel to any IP.'
The deal gives THQ Nordic the rights to the Novalogic trademark, along with the company's entire franchise portfolio including but not limited to Delta Force, Comanche, Joint Operations, Armored [sic] Fist, F22, F16, and the rare Novalogic sci-fi entry Tachyon: The Fringe.
