THQ and Relic have revealed the release date for the upcoming Exterminatus DLC for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, which will add co-op modes into the recently released shooter.

The Exterminatus DLC will be released for free on Tuesday, 25 October on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 - except in Europe, where the PS3 version will go live the following day, says Eurogamer.

The Exterminatus DLC adds four-player online co-operative to Space Marine in the form of a new, eponymous mode that pits Space Marines against Orks and Chaos Marines.

The co-op mode will tie in with the online multiplayer too, allowing perks and ranking to be carried over between the two.

Relic's Andy Lang confirmed that more DLC is planned for the future too, though he remained tight-lipped on details and would only confirm that there would be more free and premium content at some point.
