GamesCom 2010: Paradox Interactive has announced a sequel to 2004's
Crusader Kings at GamesCom 2010 in Cologne, Germany,
Crusader Kings 2.
Set for a Q1 2012 release, details about
Crusader Kings 2 are still a bit thin on the ground, though we do know that it'll offer players the chance to take the role of a Western Christian dynasty as it tries to conquer Europe and liberate the Holy Land.
“
Crusader Kings character system is what made it stand apart from any other game released on the market. With this sequel, we are committed to offering even more depth to the characters, making them feel truly alive with agendas and plots of their own” said Paradox's Johan Andersson.
Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester said that the sequel was motivated by the outspoken demand from fans, who have been pestering the publisher for a follow-up since 2004.
Little else is known about
Crusader Kings 2 at the moment, but we're going to be seeing the company tomorrow and will extract as much info as we can. Until then you can let us know your thoughts in
the forums.
