UK games retailer Game has announced the launch of a new service designed to keep PC games up to date, called the Game Downloader.
While technically still in beta, Downloader is now available to the public through
the official site, for free.
Once downloaded the application scans your PC to identify installed games, recording them to a user profile and offering daily recommendations to the most recent patches, updates and downloadable content.
Interestingly, one of Game's most unique offerings is a remote download option which lets users download demos, videos and other relevant content to their home PC from anywhere else in the world.
On top of that, Downloader can also be customised to update users about free mods and indie games which they might find interesting.
“
We’re continuing to enhance the customer experience through digital services and GAME Downloader is an example of how we can add value and engage more closely with gamers who shop for discs and downloads,” said Game's Paul Howes.
