THQ has announced that a sequel to Homefront is currently in development, with Nottingham-based Crytek UK developing the title.
Crytek UK previously existed as Free Radical Design, but
folded after it's last shooter,
Haze, failed to find a market.
Homefront 2 is currently set for a release in THQ's 2014 fiscal year, which means anywhere from April 2013 to March 2014 in real time. It's been announced for PC and other, unconfirmed consoles.
The original Homefront was developed by Kaos Studios, which closed down in June this year after Homefront met commercial success but critical failure.
'We see Homefront as a really strong universe that has a lot of potential and that has been expertly created and marketed by THQ,' said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli.
