Developer Bohemia Interactive has announced it will soon release a free to play version of its latest military simulator, Arma 2.

The free version of Arma 2 will offer the full multiplayer portion of the game, as well as the mission editor that was included in the original release.

Some content has been trimmed out of the free version, however - notably the singleplayer campaign, compatibility for mods and the Operation Arrowhead expansion pack.

The announcement also states that the free version of Arma 2 will lack the full HD graphics options of the paid game.

No specific release date has been announced yet; though the official site indicates it will be available later this month.

Check out the Arma 2 trailer below and let us know in the forums if you'll be trying out the free version when it becomes available.
