Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has said he has doubts over whether Electronic Arts' Battlefield 3 will perform as well on consoles as the developer is promising.

Speaking to CNBC over the course of E3 2011, Kotick said that only the PC version of Battlefield 3 has been shown so far, which is not where the bulk of the sales will eventually be.

'So far I’ve only seen Battlefield 3 on a PC, I haven’t seen it on a console where the bulk of our business is,' Kotick told CNBC.

'If it’s just a PC title, as it looks like today, that’s just a small audience to participate,' he added.

Electronic Arts and Activision have been trading blows on the topic a lot lately, with EA's CEO John Riccitiello promising that Battlefield 3 will easily outsell Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Battlefield 3's release date was announced yesterday, at E3 2011.
