Massively Multiplayer games are ten a penny these days, with new ones being released left, right and centre; however, every so often an interesting one pops up out of nowhere. Yesterday, Seed – one such interesting game - was released, with some unique cartoon-like graphics and a 2 week free trial to boot!

Here’s a little blurb of the game by the men who made it:

“On an alien world in the far future, desperate human settlers must work together to ensure the survival of their colony and the whole human race.

In Seed player’s use their intellect rather than brute force to get the job done, interact with believable NPCs with their own behaviours and agendas, and truly decide the fate of the colony, whether it thrives or fails, and have the power to change the world around them.”

The Danish developers Runestone are obviously excited about the game - however the CEO, Kroll Kristensen, promised more was still to come:

“The launch of Seed is only the beginning. The players’ control of the world will ensure an ever-changing interactive player experience.”

The game is unlikely to challenge World of Warcraft in terms of popularity, but it's nice to see something that steers away from the Tolkein-esque online games that are popping up everywhere. With interactive stories tailored to your character preference, a democratic in-game world that evolves over time and, of course, the excellent 3D comicbook graphics the game is certainly worth a free download.
