I'm a big adventure game fan. A massive one in fact and regular readers will immediately testify about how I manage to sandwich a mention of Guybrush Threepwood into pretty much every article I write. See, I did it again there - pretty stealthy, eh?
Still, even I had little-to-no interest in the
Leisure Suit Larry games once I got past the age of thirteen and discovered the internets true use. Somehow though risqué series, which was more about the titillation than the gameplay, managed to carve a niche still and the developers spewed out around eleven games in total. They ranged from pretty funny in a banal kind of way to downright awful, with the last game in the series,
Magna Cum Laude, being one of the worst and the series had been assumed to be somewhat dead afterwards.
If rumours are to be believed though then the series may see a bit another sequel being created. Comedian Artie Lange, who we admit we've never heard of, appeared on the
Howard Stern Show in America recently and claimed that he was providing voice talent for a new game.
Artie claims to be providing the voice of a character called Big Al and, while it may just be some unfunny joke on gamers or an elaborate attempt to get attention, it's also entirely possible.
Sierra has refused to confirm or deny the comment at the moment, which doesn't really detract or lend credence to the claim. All we can do for the moment then is sit on our hands and wait to see Larry pops his head up again and starts making with the toilet humour and boobies.
