Gee, that
Lego Star Wars was a great game wasn't it? Not only that, it was like a holy union of gaming and geek franchises, as if Lara Croft and Optimus Prime decided to shack up. Um, actually, that latter union probably isn't a good idea - but
Lego Star Wars was still really good.
In fact, it was so good that the developer, Traveller's Tales, has just announced a new Lego title - none other than
Lego Indiana Jones. Technically, it should be
Lego Henry Jones Junior (adopts Sean Connery accent, says
"We named the dog, Indiana!"), but we'll let it slide for now.
Announced at Comic-Con 2007 in San Diego,
Lego Indy will be a parody of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade - no mention of the Young Indiana films or of the new film.
The game is due out next year for all consoles, but a PC and hand-held version is highly likely too if past titles are anything to go on.
A spokesperson for Lucasarts, who will be publishing the game, told the audience at Comic-Con that the game will have the same quirky sense of humour as past Lego games.
Traveller's Tales is also working on a
Lego Batman game, while Lucasarts still has a separate Indiana Jones game in the pipeline which will be a sequel to Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.
Screenshots and details are still very thin on the ground, but we'll be sure to keep readers up to date as new information becomes available. In the mean time, you can speculate on how the game will shape up or just share memories and trivia about the films
in our forums - just watch out for the boulder traps.
