Duke Nukem Forever is definitely still in development and definitely on track for a release at some point, according to latest reports.
Computer Games Magazine, published in the US, has a cover story featuring 3DRealms' new FPS,
Prey and the magazine took some time to talk to the studio head about DNF development at the same time.
George Broussard, who heads the studio, is quote as saying:
"The problem is that when we show it, people are going to be like, 'Yeah, whatever'. Honestly, at this point we just want to finish it."
No word, then, on a possible E3 outing - but on this evidence, it appears unlikely. The latest Duke iteration was originally built on the Quake 2 engine, moved to Unreal, and the latest speculation is that it's now running on a custom engine built by the developer - although we wouldn't rule out the possibility of a Doom 3 version of the game, given that
Prey uses that engine.
Are you fed up of Duke already, or eagerly awaiting his PC re-appearance?
