The
Lost Planet DX10 demo we had a look at recently was one of the best looking games we've seen in a long while, despite only being a port of the 360 hit.
Now, before the PC version of the game is even released there may be a sequel, or two, planned for the near future. Capcom has recently trademarked the name "Lost Planet Colonies" in the US, leading many to think that a sequel cold be on the horizon. True, these copyrights often don't lead to actual product at the end of the day, but the director of marketing at Capcom, Jack Symon, assures fans that
"There will be more on Lost Planet, for sure."
Not only could the
Lost Planet Colonies trademark materialise into a new game, but there is also a mobile game planned for later in the year called
Trag Zero. On top of this there's the PC port of the original and another rumoured spin-off called
Lost Planet Wars. It looks like there's a lot more snow on the horizon then.
Speculation from some gaming sites points towards the new copyright,
Lost Planet Colonies, could be a strategy game for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles.
Capcom has remained tight-lipped on the details though, promising only that more will be announced at this years scaled down E3 event.
Lost Planet was certainly one of the most gorgeous games we've played in a while, and with work on it continuing plus it's support for DirectX 10, we can't wait to have a look at the full game, let alone any spin-off titles.
Played the 360 version or hoping for a PS3 release? Do too many titles spoil the broth or is it impossible to have too much of a good thing? Let us know what you think in the
