The Battlefield 4 open beta is launching on 4 October, ahead of its full release at the end of the month.
The multiplayer beta will be available to everyone on 4 October across Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC platforms and will initially feature Conquest mode on a single map, Siege of Shanghai.
An exclusive beta will begin a few days earlier on 1 October and will be accessible to anyone who has either pre-ordered the Battlefield 4 digital deluxe edition on Origin, become a Battlefield 3 premium member or is a registered owner of Medal of Honor Warfighter limited edition or digital deluxe edition.
EA states the purpose of the beta is to properly test servers, back end systems and to ensure the muliplayer parts of the game are configured properly. EA is also soliciting feedback from this early crop of players.
'By taking part, you will help us in ensuring a smooth launch for Battlefield 4,' EA says on a page answering questions about the beta. 'You will also have the option to feedback directly to us with any gameplay ideas, bugs you find and other thoughts on the beta experience.'
Battlefield 4 was officially announced in July 2012 and is currently scheduled for an October 29 release in the US and a November 1 release in the UK.
