We still love Audiosurf. Not only does it have the niche and cult appeal of a PC exclusive game built by a one man development team, but it has also turned out to be an incredibly addictive and fun game, giving players the chance to 'ride their music'.

Now though, as the first major update for the game is released, Audiosurf adds yet more strings to the bow.

Dylan Fitterer, the one-man team behind the game, has added in a bunch of new features to the latest version, including the ability to run Audiosurf as a music visualiser and to 'scrobble' tracks to Last.fm for all to see.

Most importantly though, Fitterer has enabled mod support in the game too. Though mods had previously been available in the beta stages of the game they have since been fully introduced and players now have access to a whole host of mods, including MSN plugins, score calculators and contextual menus for launching the game from a right-click.

That said, our favourite is still the Kitten Texture Mod

If you're new to Audiosurf then you have our pity - for less than the cost of a movie you can pick up the full game, though if you want more persuasion you'll have to read our full review. Only then will you be in a position to let us know what you think in the forums.
