Aftermath, the expansion pack for Half-Life 2, is due to ship in September, according to a report on
Eurogamer.
Despite Valve Software's recent split from publisher Vivendi Universal, the expansion will be distributed on physical shelves, rather than just over Steam. However, who is to publish the agreement is yet to be decided.
It was previously thought that, with the split from Vivendi, future content might be published only online.
Still no news, however, of when the super-duper-graphics level, The Lost Coast, will be made available. Sources say that it has been put back until ATI launch R520, but sources also suggest that R520 has been delayed. Yet more sources suggest that R520 was displaying the new Remedy title, Alan Wake, at E3.
Of course, nobody will actually confirm any of this to anyone. However,
bit-tech is due to have a briefing with ATI on Wednesday, and we'll be sure to interrogate them. Last time we met with ATI, we ended up snapping pictures of a top-secret part in a bathroom at the restaurant we dined at. This time, we'll be attempting to go one better by getting R520 snapped on the naked body of an ATI employee.
