A quick news byte for all of you who love the
Guitar Hero series:
Many of us love the
Guitar Hero saga. Whether you enjoy playing it on your PS2 or your XBox 360, it turns into a rocking (pardon the pun) party game or even just something fun to whip out when you're bored. The novel gameplay and controller are something that really captures the imagination, much like a particular console released not that long ago. Now, it appears they'll have more in common: our favourite axe-weilding fret fest
is coming to the Wii.
In the fiscal Q3 conference call at Activision to talk about upcoming financial goals, the CEO of the publisher, Mike Griffith, let it slip that Nintendo was a top priority for its 2008 fiscal year (which actually starts on April 1, 2007). Quite a few titles are going to be making the move to the Wii and DS this year, but we all know which one we've been waiting for.
Here's the direct quote from the call, which you can listen to
here.
"The key difference in our strategy versus the prior cycle, is that in addition to full support on Sony and Microsoft platforms, we will aggressively target the Nintendo platforms consistent with our multi-platform strategy and Nintendo's expected growth. In fiscal 2008, we will double our offerings on the DS and the Wii, including Spider-Man, Shrek, Transformers, and Guitar Hero."
So there you have it - Wii're getting
Guitar Hero.
