One of the 360's most intriguing titles, Dead Rising, has encountered some fairly major problems since it's release in the US on the 8th. Wannabe Zombie killers are complaining that on Standard Definition television sets the in game text is unreadable. A spokeperson for Capcom released a statement addressing the issue:

"Dear Everyone, I have heard your concerns and passed them to every source within Capcom possible. I feel your pain as I, myself, have a large SDTV and am having trouble reading the mission objectives, item names, etc.

Unfortunately it does take time to resolve any issue and we would want to fix the issue appropriately as any changes to any game can create additional problems from the result of change; that's just how game programming works and that's why games go through extensive game testing programs and approvals.

We also would like you to know that we appreciate your feedback as the game was just released and it's feedback from our fans and gamers that make our games great. We appreciate your continued support of Capcom products!"

The Dead Rising game puts you in the shoes of a freelance journalist, intent on getting the scoop on a Zombie infested town. The sandbox game puts you into the middle of the zombie fest giving you complete freedom to go about the game as you choose. A brilliant idea, which could potentially be ruined by this development blooper.

With the European release date currently at 9th September, and with the pentration of high definition television sets being far lower in Europe than the US, we can only hope that they are able to fix things in time. Otherwise this game may end up as (un)dead as one of its in game Zombie flesh eaters.

Are you sitting smugly, stroking your HDTV? Or are you a SDTV owner, angry at Capcom's negligence? Let us know your thoughts in the forum.
