TorrentSpy countersues MPAA

The Motion Picture Association of America has been suing popular torrent tracker TorrentSpy for copyright infringement. In a bizarre move, TorrentSpy has countersued for illegal hacking.
According to the tracker site, the MPAA hired a hacker and paid him $15,000 to break into the systems of the site's owner company, Valence Media, and find out dirt on its staff and operations.
The MPAA allegedly hired through an 'intermediary' for the sake of plausible deniability, and the firm promised the hacker that he would not be held accountable for his actions.
The hacker went on to obtain Excel documents containing financial details of the site, as well as confidential emails, according to Security Pro News.
Valence Media isn't happy, and is now going after the MPAA, claiming that it can prove that the media body acted illegally.
